During the Double 12 shopping festival in 2022, many famous e-commerce platforms in Southeast Asia experienced unprecedented sales peaks. The sales records set by these platforms and the quantity of participants show that Southeast Asia’s e-commerce industry is in a skyrocketing stage.
Following the craze in 2022, many of Southeast Asia’s e-commerce platforms once again refreshed multiple performance records on the day of the Double 12 shopping festival in 2023. According to reports, a well-known cross-border e-commerce platform achieved remarkable results. The cross-border live streaming orders increased nearly 54 times, surpassing 12,000,000 orders within the first 2 minutes of the event. New cross-border sellers experienced a highlight moment towards the end of the year, with order quantities reaching 24 times higher than usual. Cross-border brands also delivered outstanding results, exceeding 7 times their usual performance.
However, as sales continue to grow, especially during year-end peak sales seasons such as Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Double 12, and Christmas, problems faced by overseas warehouses are becoming increasingly apparent. Problems such as insufficient storage space, high labor costs, low transfer efficiency, and cargo jams directly affect logistics efficiency and the customer experience, further affecting the brand image and reputation of e-commerce platforms.
To help a well-known cross-border e-commerce platform in Southeast Asia solve these warehousing problems, Wayzim, empowered by its technology and experience in intelligent warehousing, used a combination of AMRs and management software after understanding the actual requirements and difficulties of the customer.
The combination solution replaced manual handling and realised automated intelligent warehousing. Wayzim AMRs can automatically plan the optimal path and work continuously for 24 hours a day.
